Support

Donations help make influential artists' development initiatives like DIY possible, support new publications and projects by extraordinary artists, and help us buy essential books and DVDs for our Study Room.

LADA welcomes donations of all sizes - we can make a little go a long way, and make a lot go even further. £20 can buy a book for LADA's Study Room, £200 can pay for a LADA Screens, and £2000 would fund a new artist-led DIY workshop programme. Your support can set great art and ideas in motion.

Testimonials

‘LADA reaches out deep and wide to both artists and audiences, getting to places that other arts organisations can only dream of. They are exactly the sort of creative, responsive and responsible organisation that we need to keep the arts in this country moving forwards in difficult times – and that's why I'm offering them my support through the Catalyst Evolve scheme.’ Neil Bartlett, artist

‘I have donated money to LADA for the Catalyst Evolve program, so it can be doubled. I would not be where I am today with my career and practice without LADA.’  Oreet Ashery, artist

'Go see your solicitor and make LADA the benefactor of your will.' David Hoyle, artist

The Katherine Araniello Bursary Award

The brilliant artist Katherine Araniello died on Monday 25 February 2019.

Katherine was an extraordinary human being, a fearless activist, and an artist who was central to so many lives, including LADA’s.

Katherine was an inspiration to countless artists whether they admired her from afar, or took part in one of her wild workshops, or collaborated with her on all kinds of projects.
To honour her influence and ensure her lasting legacy, Katherine’s partner Tracey Jannaway, her family and LADA have set up a fund to create an annual Katherine Araniello Bursary Award for an unapologetically radical and politicised artist who works in Live Art and identifies as a disabled person.

We are seeking your support to help us create this fund in Katherine’s memory. All donations received to the fund will go directly towards the Bursary.

We welcome donations of all sizes and your contribution may be eligible for Gift Aid.

We are giving LADA all of our money: A statement from Charlotte Cooper, Simon Murphy and Kay Hyatt

LADA are delighted to announce that Charlotte Cooper, Simon Murphy and Kay Hyatt have decided to give LADA all of their money after they die.

Five years ago, the artist David Hoyle encouraged everyone to 'go see your solicitor and make LADA the benefactor of your will.' This has now happened. Charlotte, Simon and Kay, three middle-aged queers based in East London, don't want to die anytime soon but when they are gone they hope to leave a flat, a house and whatever savings and sundries they have to LADA.

‘We love the weirdness of Live Art and respect how LADA works to foster it, the community surrounding the Agency and the resources it shares. We have been lucky to have witnessed and been inspired by electrifying performance and want to see much more. It's a life force! A reason for living! Encouragement! We are makers and do-ers ourselves, with decades of mostly DIY cultural work behind us through publishing, zines, performing, bands, dance, video, comics, whatever we turn our hands to. Our work is messy and strange, unassimilated, sprawling. Live Art gives us a framework in which we can be. This is part of who we are, it keeps us alive and we want to nurture it in others.’

Please read Charlotte, Simon and Kay's full statement about their decision to support LADA, which can be read here.
