Practice, Participation, Politics Gathering

This event is now fully booked.

CAPP

The Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme (CAPP) is a transnational programme focusing on collaborative practices with the aim of enhancing mobility and exchange for artists and engaging new publics.  The different strands of the programme consist of national and international professional development opportunities, artist residencies, commissioned works, public presentations and debates, and a major showcase to be held in Dublin in 2018.

Practice, Participation, Politics Gathering

This gathering in London is the first CAPP Staging Post – an opportunity to reflect on the CAPP residencies which have taken place across Europe throughout 2016 and discuss wider issues in relation to collaborative ways of working, public engagement, participation, and social responsibility.

An afternoon of artists’ presentations and debates provoked by guest speakers will be followed by an evening launch of Praxis: Volume One, a new publication from Heart of Glass (St. Helens) and a Long Table discussion that will seek to join the dots between social practice, politics and activism. Join us to unpick urgent questions of language, solidarity and what’s at stake in this time of change and uncertainty.

Contributors include: Lois Weaver, Sibylle Peters, Elena Marchevska, Kelly Green, Patrick Fox, Chrissie Tiller, Ailbhe Murphy, Christopher Kline, Mark Storor, Viviana Checchia, Orekari, Dafna Maimon, Anna Cutler, Selina Thompson, Miklós Tömör, and Juli Reinartz.

Artists, activists, academics, writers, curators, producers, funders and anyone interested in these territories and discussions are all welcome.

The gathering is taking place within the context of LADA’s CAPP residency programme, investigating issues of Live Art and Privilege and generating case studies and methodologies for working with the young, the old, the displaced and those excluded for reasons of class.
