DIY: 2009 – Brian Lobel Camp Live Art

Camp Live Art, a 3-day workshop where participants will play, twist, improve, trash and destroy various summer camp games and explore potentials and problems within interactive performance.

Led by Brian Lobel.

Mon-Wed 21-23 September, Colchester Arts Centre

Project summary:
Camp Live Art focuses on the generation of interactive performance material by exploring group activities, camp games and the idea of audience as community. It aims to enhance the participants’ consciousness around playing with, in and around audiences and utilizes games from classic summer camp playbooks alongside contemporary theories of audience, community and interactivity. During the workshop, participants (Campers) will learn both individually and collectively. At the end of the workshop, 10 compensated audience members (Players) will participate in the games/activities created. Players will be recruited separately.
