Study Room Residencies for Black Scholars and Artists (now closed)

The Live Art Development Agency is calling for Black scholars and/or artists to undertake a 6-month residency in LADA’s Study Room, based at the Garrett Centre.

About the opportunity

We are looking for applicants who are interested in developing projects and research gatherings dedicated to expanding LADA’s Study Room resources as well as introducing our audiences and communities to artists and scholars from the Global Majority.

Residents are welcomed to include Study Room Residencies as part of wider funding bids, and LADA is able to supply letters of support and indicative in-kind costings to prospective residents.

Welcoming applications from artists, academics and researchers who identified as Black.

Residency Details

The residencies will involve:

  • Access to LADA’s space on a mutually agreed schedule
  • A dedicated workspace to conduct your research
  • A personalised introduction to LADA and the Study Room
  • Use of LADA’s kitchen and facilities during opening hours

We ask residents to write a short report at the end of their residency reflecting on, and offering feedback about their experience at LADA. Our team will be on hand to advise on this.
