this moment: missives from another world : Thirty Years of Performances Photographed

this moment: missives from another world is a book on the photography of Bob Raymond, who documented performance art in Boston for thirty years until his untimely death in 2012. He was a member of the Mobius Artists Group, one of the oldest alternative arts organisations in the USA, where he documented thousands of performance arts events. The Mobius archives, including his photographs, are now housed at the Tufts University Digital Collections and Archives.This 10″x10″ book not only contains 70 colour photographs of performances, but also includes essays about the history of Mobius in Boston, and about the challenges of documenting ephemeral art. Additionally, the artists pictured in the images have written about their art work, and about Bob Raymond’s work as documentarian and artist.
