Frequently Asked Questions
Who runs Unbound?
Unbound is a project run by the Live Art Development Agency. The Agency seeks to increase the profile of Live Art, to further critical debates around artists’ and curators’ practices in this area and to provide advice and support for artists, cultural producers and academics working in the field.
Why should I buy books from Unbound rather than from some other more mainstream book dealer?
Unbound is dedicated to disseminating a broad range of materials around Live Art practices and is run on a not-for-profit basis. Proceeds from the sale of books and dvds are put back into the Live Art Development Agency’s publication and research projects and thus actively support and extend the work of artists and writers in this area.
What are the region codes and formats of the dvds?
Unbound is based in the UK and all dvds are therefore compatible with PAL devices. Where possible our dvds will have a region code of 0 and therefore be compatible internationally. We will endeavour to highlight any restrictive formats within individual item descriptions.
Is the Unbound stock a comprehensive list of books on live art, performance and associated practices?
No. It is a specific collection combining key texts with hard to find artists‚ books, dvds and limited editions. We are interested in profiling and selling things that we think are significant and/or less well distributed elsewhere.
Can Unbound publish or distribute my limited edition books/dvds/artworks?
Yes, if we think it complements our editorial policy for Unbound. Please contact us with more information about you, your work and your limited edition books/dvds/artwork
