All three guides and toolkits are now available to download for free
We are delighted to launch three new Study Room Guides and Toolkits of Methodologies for working with the young, the old and the displaced by Sibylle Peters, Lois Weaver and Elena Marchevska.
These invaluable and unique resources have been developed from artist-led research residencies in our Study Room as part of the first year of Restock, Rethink, Reflect 4 (RRR4) on Live Art and Privilege, a project looking at the ways in which Live Art has developed new forms of access, knowledge, agency, and inclusion in relation to under-represented and disempowered constituencies.
Sibylle Peter’s research residency explored Live Art practices and methodologies in relation to intergenerational practices, especially with children/young people and generated the guide, Live Art & Kids and toolkit Performing Research (how to conduct research projects with kid’s s and adults using Live Art strategies).
Lois Weaver’s research residency explored Live Art practices and methodologies in relation to working with older individuals and communities and generated the guide Know How and a toolkit of Action Recipes.
Elena Marchevska’s research residency, in collaboration with Counterpoints Arts, explored Live Art practices and methodologies in relation to the experiences of the displaced and generated the guide The Displaced & Privilege (Live Art in the age of hostility) and a Toolkit for Itinerant Artists.
For the launch event Sibylle, Lois and Elena will be in conversation with artists, activists and academics working in these territories: producer Tracy Gentles, the curator and educator Chrissie Tiller, Almir Koldzic of Counterpoints Arts, Simon Casson of Duckie, artist Robin Whitmore, Susan Sheddan of Tate Families, and artist and LADA Thinker in Residence Hester Chillngworth.
The Study Room Guides and Toolkits of Methodologies will be available as free limited-run print editions and as free downloads from LADA’s website.
The fourth RRR4 research residency was undertaken by the artist and researcher Kelly Green, in collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University. Kelly’s guide and toolkit will be launched in 2018 as part of future manifestations of RRR4 on Live Art and Privilege.
The RRR4 residencies, Study Room Guides and Toolkits are supported by, and form part of LADA’s contribution to, the Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme(CAPP), a transnational programme funded by the European Union focusing on collaborative practices with the aim of engaging new participants and enhancing mobility and exchange for artists.
