Call for proposals by emergent artists working in Live Art and based in London
EEC Platform 2003
An open submissions performance platform
EEC Platform 2003 is part of East End Collaborations 2003, an initiative by People's Palace Productions, Queen Mary, University of London and the Live Art Development Agency. Now in its fifth year, East End Collaborations 2003 builds on previous EEC events by offering a number of support structures for graduates and emerging artists based in London.
East End Collaborations 2003 aims to respond to the professional development needs of artists who are at an early stage of their practice by providing opportunities to access information, advice and expertise through the training day Everything You Wanted To Know About Live Art But Were Afraid To Ask, Part Two (13 September), to showcase work through the open submissions EEC Platform (7 and 8 November), and to receive input and critical feedback through a new Mentoring Scheme.
The EEC Platform will take place on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 November 2003 in a range of performance and installation spaces at Queen Mary, University of London.
The EEC Platform is an opportunity for artists who are working in Live Art to present their work in a professional context and introduce their practice to audiences, peers, promoters and funders. Although the EEC Platform has included work by undergraduates and more established artists alike in recent years, EEC 2003 returns to its roots by focusing solely on the work of recent graduates and emergent artists. Selected artists will be offered full technical and promotional support, including video documentation, and critical feedback on the development of their work by experienced mentors.
EEC Platform participants will be selected on an open submissions basis by a small panel of artists and promoters.
Artists wishing to apply should complete and return an application form by 5 September 2003 at the latest.
Applications formsare available from:
