Because of Love, a film about Franko B

Launch Event will take place on 29 November 2016 at 7pm
For this LADA Screens we are showing a rough cut of the first ever documentary about the life and work of Franko B by Nathaniel Walters. Nathaniel has been filming Franko since 2003 and working on Because of Love for over six years.
For the live launch of this film Franko B will be in conversation with the writer Dominic Johnson.
Following the launch the film will be available to view on the LADA Screens channel for a limited period.
Biography
Franko B makes drawings, installations, sculpture and performance as well as working in many other mediums and disciplines. Over the years he has built up a sizeable body of work and has become widely known internationally. He lives and works in London, is Professor of Sculpture at Professor of Sculpture at l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Macerata and a visiting lecture at the Royal College of Art. His work is the subject of four monographs: Franko B (Black Dog Publishing, London, 1998), Oh Lover Boy, (Black Dog Publishing, London, 2000), Blinded by Love (Damiani Editore, Bologna, 2006) and I Still Love (Motta/Il Sole 24 Ore, Milan, 2010).
About LADA Screens
LADA Screens is a series of free, online screenings of seminal performance documentation, works to camera, short films/video and archival footage. It is part of Live Online, LADA’s dedicated space where you can watch short videos and films drawn from LADA’s Study Room or generated through our programmes and initiatives.
Each screening will be available to view for a limited time only, and will be launched with a live event at the White Building in Hackney Wick, London. Online art magazine, thisistomorrow will also feature the films on their website for the duration of the screenings.
LADA Screens is curated by the Live Art Development Agency (LADA). LADA is a 'Centre for Live Art': a knowledge centre, a production centre for programmes and publications, a research centre setting artists and ideas in motion, and an online centre for digital experimentation, representation and dissemination.
