Text by Martina Papiro. Alison Knowles is a founding member of the New York Fluxus group and has participated in its actions and exhibitions ever since its inaugural concert in 1962. She considers Art as a process: what counts for her is the act, not the object. The dimension of sound often plays a significant role in her performances, which are radically undramatic and deeply rooted in everyday life.
