Description
‘This work explores balance, endurance and the composition of the body in space. It shows the body both loaded and equipped, by and for life.’
– Poppy Jackson
Mark-making underpins all of Poppy Jackson’s practice. The Tower monoprints evolved with and through the process of the Tower performance that took place in Wattisfield, Suffolk in September 2024 and was supported by LADA as part of the Live Art in Rural UK year-long programme. The work crossed through barns, ditches, fields and meadows, with Poppy’s body both below and above ground level, to the steel tower silo where the work culminated. Tower explored the interplay of mothering and artistic practice, within the open landscape that has become an integral part of the artist’s life and her children’s upbringing. Tower is Poppy’s most recent work to date and is the latest example of her roof apex works.
The monoprint Tower X is also part of the Pathways Home Collection.
