Video: 20 Years of LADA
We’ve created this short film on the occasion of our 20th Anniversary which looks back at 20 years of our work. The film features archive material from our projects and initiatives as well as interviews with Katy Baird, Lauren Barri Holstein, Season Butler, vacuum cleaner, Tim Etchells, Marcia Farquhar, Brian Lobel, Stacy Makishi, Nando Messias and Martin O’Brien.
LADA: 1999 - 2019
In 2019, LADA marked its 20th anniversary. We celebrated this milestone with a series of initiatives throughout the year, including –
- a new publication, Agency, A Partial History of Live Art edited by Theron Schmidt and co-published with Intellect Books, looking back at the last 20 years of Live Art through the lens of LADA
- Tiny Live Art (Development Agency) – 20 works for 20 years, 20 limited editions by Robert Daniels using miniature figures and dioramas to create sculptures of seminal performance works
- LADA at 20 Postcards – a boxed set of 20 postcards representing key LADA projects and initiatives 1999-2019
- 20 x 20: Artists reflect on 20 years of LADA – a radio series on Live Art histories and futures for Resonance FM
- Live Art on the page, the stage and the screen – a series of free events at The Garrett Centre
- A Live Art Gala – a star-studded Live Art fundraising gala to mark our 20th anniversary. “This is an almighty, giddy treat of a night.” – Run Riot
- Future Proofing – An Artist’s Bursary – a bursary of £2,000 to an artist aged under 25 to imagine the future they’d like to see, how their practice could shape it, and what they need to do that.
